Recognized by Success Magazine as a SUCCESS 125 Leaders to Watch Honoree, Kim Anthony is an established authority on engaging transformational education to uplift and empower historically socioeconomically challenged communities.

As an innovator in the nonprofit sector, she has led the launch, growth, and development of more than five hundred 501c3 nonprofit organizations and has sourced more than $20 million in impact funding for marginalized communities across 31 states.

However, her inspirational journey does not begin there. Emancipating from the foster care system at 18, she found herself on a bus bench with a mere $73 to her name and the "sage advice" to "figure it out."

Driven by a fierce determination to evade the perils of homelessness, human trafficking, and substance abuse, it was her passionate study of personal development principles and strategies that enabled her to cultivate her gifts, talents, skills and abilities to build a future she could be proud of.

Honoring a long-held promise to one day become the mentor she always wished she had, she leveraged her three decades of leadership in the community and economic development field --enhanced by comprehensive immersion in the personal growth and development sector, which includes extensive studies with the Napoleon Hill Foundation, named after the late Napoleon Hill, acclaimed author of such success classics as "The Law of Success," "The Master Key," and Think and Grow Rich" -- she launched what we now know as the Urban Excellence Institute.

Inspired by a belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue their greatest potential, the Urban Excellence Institute is the first-ever training and development company of its kind to intentionally curate and deliver world-class transformational training modalities, making them available and accessible for all, including and especially in under-resourced communities.

Deeply concerned about the plight of those most detrimentally impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, she established the Urban Excellence Coach Academy to develop an “army of coaches” to support those, who due to the economic uncertainty that resulted, were facing the need to re-imagine new futures for themselves. A year later, Urban Excellence Coach Academy was granted official accreditation by the International Coach Federation, which is the gold standard for coaching education and accreditation worldwide.

Graduating certified coaches are eligible to participate in the Urban Excellence Community Coaching Corps, which provides life/success/upward mobility coaching services for people who would otherwise be unable to afford them.

This successful impact-driven entrepreneur is also owner of Urban Media Ventures, home of the Urban Business Journal and Urban Excellence Magazine, serves as the Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Black Business Association, and resides in Upland, California, where she co-pastors Victory Community Church alongside her husband, Senior Pastor Tommy Morrow.
